Having graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a First Class Degree
in Textile Design, I was thrilled to go on to win the Habitat Future Design
Award at New Designers in 2023. Diving straight into my career following
New Designers, I completed work placements with Sanderson
Design Group and Habitat. Here I acquired essential industry skills,
developed my attentive eye for detail and gained confidence in answering
a versatile range of design briefs.
When I’m not painting, flicking through books and magazines for inspiration or
planning new design projects, you can find me out exploring the local
areas with our family dog, Bonnie. I feel extremely lucky to live in such an
inspiring part of the country. Surrounded by beaches, rolling countryside and
quaint villages, I never struggle for inspiration, whether that be scenes of
nature or discovering what other local creatives are getting up to.
Underpinning my enthusiasm for artwork and design,
is a desire to create designs that bring joy and a curious
individuality into peoples’ lives through colour and pattern.
Stemming from my fondness of the the Arts and Crafts movement,
I truly enjoy using traditional techniques, like block printing and
manual repeat tiles, to ground my practice in heritage and stylised details.
Combining this philosophy with my experienced digital practice allows me to
explore design briefs in a fluid and fresh way. Alongside an acute awareness
of the industry, I truly recognise the importance of creating designs that
tap into consumers passions, going far beyond trends. I believe in creating
designs that have been meticulously considered and are designed with purpose,
passion and creativity at their core.
